JCに来たきっかけ

私たち家族がJCに来たきっかけは、東京に引っ越すことになり、自分たちが通えるカルバリーチャペルをウェブサイトで捜したことでした。知主夫牧仕にメールしたところ、快く返信をくださり、私たちが訪問することを歓迎してくれました。 Our family ended up at JC because we had looked for a Calvary Chapel in Tokyo by way of the internet before we moved to Tokyo. We wrote an email to Pastor Chizuo and he was very gracious to write back to us and welcome us to visit.

カリフォルニアから東京に到着したのは火曜日でした。翌水曜日に、マックスと上の二人の娘たちとで、国分寺あたりで住む家を探すために、青梅から出かけました。JR国分寺駅にて、主が、知主夫牧仕と会うようにしてくださいました。彼は私たちが日本に来たことを歓迎してくださり、JCを訪問することも歓迎すると言ってくれました。 We arrived in Tokyo from California on a Tuesday, and on Wednesday Maxx and his two oldest daughters traveled from Ome to Kokubunji to look at a house to rent. At Kokubunji Station, the Lord caused us to meet Pastor Chizuo at the station where he welcomed us again to Japan and to come visit JC.

日曜日に、家族全員で国分寺に出かけて行きJCで主を礼拝すると、主は私たちに「この教会があなたたちの教会です」と明確に語られました。 That Sunday, the entire family traveled to Kokubunji to worship at JC and the Lord clearly told us this was to be our church.

JCの何がよかったのか

私たちがJCを好きな理由は沢山あります。１番の理由は、知主夫牧仕がダイレクトに聖書を教え、一章一章、一節一節に時間を使い神のことばを解き明かしている点です。２番目に、キリストの愛が、JCの一人一人を通してゲストとお互いに対して、麗しく輝き出ている点です。３番目に、この教会が、お互いのため、また他の人たちのため、そして問題のために熱心に祈っている点です。４番目に、賛美の音楽がとても力強く素晴らしい点です。５番目に、この教会が、年間を通して、周辺地域にイエスの愛を分ち合うことを追求している点です。 What we love about JC is many things. Most important, Pastor Chizuo teaches the Word of God directly from the Bible, spending time through each chapter and verse. Second, the love of Jesus shines through each person at JC in such a loving way to guests and to each other. Third, the church prays fervently and often for each other and other people and situations. Fourth, the music worship is very powerful and wonderful. Fifth, the church seeks to reach out to the community throughout the year to share the love of Jesus.

なぜJCに決めたのか

私たちが、JCに参加することを決めたのは、彼らとともに礼拝したときに、主の平和が強く私たち家族の上に臨むのを感じることができたからです。後に、私たちのその決断は驚くべき形で裏づけられることになりました。私たちが、2011年１月に国分寺に住み始め、３月11日に東日本大震災が起こり、東北に大きな津波が押し寄せました。（JCは震災直後から現地支援活動を始めた）このことを通して、神が私たちをJCに参加させてくださったのは、JCに寄り添って東北の人々を愛し仕えるためだったことが明らかになったのです。この経験から、私たちはJCに留まる必要があることを知ったのです。 We decided to join JC because we felt very strong the peace of the Lord resting upon our family as we worshiped there. Also, our decision was confirmed for us in an incredible way. We arrived in January 2011 on March 11 following the Touhoku Earthquake and Tsunami it became very clear the Lord wanted our family involved with JC so we could minister to the people of the Touhoku region alongside JC. From that experience, we knew we had to stay at JC.

JCの推薦できるところは、聖書の素晴らしい教え、フェローシップ（交わり）、そしてアウトリーチ（伝道）の機会が、この教会にあること。真にJCは、私たち家族の中心におられる私たちの主イエス・キリストの家族なのです。今ではニューヨークに住み、違う教会のメンバーであるものの、JCはこれからも私たちにとって家族であり続けます。 What we recommend about JC is the wonderful teaching of the Bible, the fellowship, and the outreach opportunities that the church engages in. JC is truly a family with Jesus Christ our Lord at the center of that family. Though we the Godseys live now in New York City and are members of another church, JC will always be family to us.
